when I called medicare the woman wanted to push my Medicare thru. Its not due for another 2? years. I'm not sure why . I did ask her twice but I never understood what she was telling me.

I misread that. Medicare instead of medicaid.

Why is it that people who need help can't get it but everyone who doesn't need it gets it? One of life's great mysteries for me.

When I wen to the dept of aging for my dad they told me to put in for SNAP for him. I did. 88 year old man who worked his whole life and was told he was eligible for 40$ a month. He paid into the system and they offered him 40$ a month? I told his case worker, no thanks, I was sure there was some single woman in town working on her 6th pregnancy who needed it more than he did. I think back on it now and it sounds pretty snarky but like Granny, I had just watched a loved one slowly die, (my mother) I was trying to bring my elderly father suffering from dementia home and was planning a funeral as well as trying to figure out how to pay hospital doctor and funeral bills with only 600 dollars in the bank and they offered him 40 dollars? I was pretty fried at the time and tired of dealing with people who just seemed not to care about their jobs past getting their pay checks.

Everything worked out in the end which is why I can say to @grannyhatchet and @lovesfarm, have faith. Jesus is listening to your prayers and ours for you and feeling your pain. He hasn't forgotten or forsaken you but holding you close to his heart.

Have to remember, those that are telling you what you can have are only going by the ..set..rules. They didn't make them.
