Granny's gone and done it again

Tardive dyskinesia (TD) is a neurological condition causing involuntary, repetitive movements of the face, tongue, trunk, or limbs, often appearing late (tardive) after long-term use of dopamine-blocking medications like antipsychotics, though other drugs can also cause it. Symptoms include lip smacking, grimacing, tongue protrusion, rapid blinking, and jerking limb movements, making it difficult to control actions and causing significant distress.
This sounds a lot like what my DH has/had but he had never taken any Rx. He'd done this all his life till I took him to a dr and said, What is this and can we fix it? The only time he was still was when he was asleep. The dr pondered and finally said she thought it was a form of Tourette's - but not the verbal kind. She prescribed him a Rx and said if this fixes the problem, that's diagnostic. If it doesn't, we'll try something else. Well. It fixed it! (He didn't have the tongue protrusion and it didn't cause HIM any distress, but it was uncomfortable for others, I think.)
