Granny's gone and done it again

Good morning Granny and all.
Good morning all. Waiting for a call to get a repair person over here to see what's up with our..1 year and 4 month old fridge. They just don't make them like they used to. :(
I'm really going to check out the Costco idea if this "fix" doesn't last long.
I bought from Lowes and I don't remember the reason but it needed to be exchanged. The Manager came out to me and said I picked the worst brand they make and they don't even make parts for it so there's no fixing it. I asked him to show me a good one and he said I got you. I will pick one up for you and get it delivered. I didn't even walk back there to look at them. He picked one that cost about $800. more then I had paid and wrote it off. I've never had a problem with it either (knock on wood) Its been years...

Wow, Granny, you lucked out! :love

GC called me from her bedroom at 3:30 a.m., sick from eating too much gluten yesterday. She'd bought a dozen glazed doughnuts and ate 3 of them plus a slice of pizza. Darnit, she's gone so long without eating any, or hardly any, she fell off the wagon so to speak. I guess this will remind her why she has to abstain. I can imagine how hard it must be. With alcohol you can just not have it in the house but gluten is everywhere. Can Robert have gluten, Granny?
I can sympathize. I went off the diet wagon and have been paying for it ever since. Christmas and cookies and sweets and yummy foods are everywhere and maybe this time I can eat them and not set off IBS and or Diverticulitis.

WRONG!

Sorry haven't been around. Too busy being miserable and naturally due to the holidays, doc isn't available till next week. Not sick enough to haul my sorry backside into the ER so have had to be content riding the sofa, eating a soft bland diet, popping pain pills and feeling sorry for myself.

It's really rough not being able to eat like 'regular' people do, especially around the holidays.

I don't have a gluten problem although they say if you have IBS you should limit your gluten. But pizza is on my no no list also and I love pizza. So give her a hug for me and tell her she isn't alone.

Hope everyone is hanging in there and had a great Christmas/New Year.

@twisted-acres-farm Got your lovely card. Thank you and thank you everyone who sent one. It has taken 10 days for some cards to get to us this year. I don't know what goes with our mail but it seems like mail going or coming from east of the Mississippi is much slower than mail coming from west but even that doesn't always hold true and it's been too cold to stand out so I can catch the mail delivery person to ask her about it but something has definitely changed. For 78 cents a pop you would think they could at least get the mail to you in a timely fashion.

Lost two birds over the holidays. Sigh. My oldest rooster died. Indiana was 9. My oldest Marek's survivor. Yesterday I had to put down a Fayoumi hen. She was 5. Sudden weight loss and was obviously suffering. I've been doing this for 11 years this year and I always gt so discouraged when I have to put one down. I was warming to the idea of maybe getting a few white leg horns for eggs in a year or two but now I'm going, nah. Hurts too bad when they die and I get too emotionally attached. DH tells me to think of them as livestock and I say, that's hard. I hatched and hand raised that hen I lost. It's hard to remain detached under those circumstances. He just gives me a hug and tells me how sorry he is.Not much else he can do.

Blue, yes I did! IDK what made him do that for me. Maybe because I reminded him of someone or.. I did trust him to pick the next one out but I got lucky.
MC, Im sorry for your loss and the pain you are going thru. Dr. gives Robert umm.. bentyl for flairs. Fast acting and he said it really helps the pain. its as needed. Have you tried it?

Robert and I went to the bank then funeral home to make a payment. I am keeping all receipts because I don't think these men know how to count. I know of one time they didn't credit me. Anyway, $200 today and $1,695. still owed. Welfare has not paid their part which is supposed to be $1,200. leaving me $495. I wish I could pay it off. I hate having that hanging over my head but I count my blessings for the help I received. ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Yeah, I have Bentyl. It helps my stomach a lot but this hit my colon big time. Cramping, pain, and I get what they called referred pain which is basically nerve inflammation in my back which is caused from nerves that your back shares with your gut....yeah, they do that, nasty nasty things. So the Bentyl doesn't do much for that. Basically I have to stop eating everything except rice, chicken, fish (baked only) soft veggies and easily digested foods and give my gut a chance to settle down and heal. The inflammation isn't wanting to back off easily this time so hopefully my doc will pull a rabbit out of his lab coat and get it to back off.

Problem for me is I'm trying to balance a diverticular disease with one for IBS and sometimes I just....get....tired of watching every bite I put into my mouth. Then I pay for it.

Huh, I was going to ask the thread this morning if anyone ever has referred pain. I get it a lot but its umm.. outside pain if that makes sense. I also have both of those gut problems along with a side of slow gut to go along with it.
