Granny's gone and done it again

Okay, Just what we needed. Was out taking care of the birds, walking back from getting the mail and heard a dog carrying on. Thought it was the neighbors dog across the road, looked over and saw this:

Very young, 6-8 weeks but I'll have to stick my finger back in her mouth and feel her teeth. She ran into our culvert so I got down on my hands and knees in the ditch and coaxed her out. Poor little thing was scared to death, crying her heart out and had the distinctive smell of barn and horse poop about her. Brought her in and gave her a bath. DH told me she came to me so she was my dog and I had to name her.....okaaaaaay.......I choose.....Georgi. And have no idea what breed(s) she is although I sense some Border Collie in her. She looks a lot like out Lucy who was border collie and Aussie shepherd but something else is mixed in to the lot. She has white tipped back feet and a tiny white tip on her tail which isn't showing any feathering at this point.

Frickin people! What kind of animal dumps a little puppy in the winter outside a farm and just leaves it there!? I can just hear them driving down the road and saying, 'this is far enough and look! They have a bunch of dogs, quick put her out, they'll take her'! We have no idea how long she has been there. The only food on hand that a pup could eat is our canned food that we feed the heathens so I chopped some of that for her. She gobbled it down so she might have been there since last night. We went out and checked the culvert and area but she is the only one.

Sigh....so we are up to 7 dogs. Buck, Spot, Ben, Rocki, Diesel, Varna and now, Georgi Girl.
Awwww she is adorable!!!!! But I’m sorry :hugs

Oh look at those ears, she is part bear! What a sweetie. I am SO glad you found her and you are right, she looks exactly like a Georgie Girl! How funny because I was singing that song jjust last night! I give her 3 ❤️❤️❤️

All this talk of Covid, coughing and colds is contagious! Pa has come down with it! He sounds like its a sinus infection. Hope I don't get it!
MC, that is an adorable pup
Oh Iris, I hope you don't either! Tell Larry to get well soon and we really hope it's a mild case, over quickly!

That's what DH said when I called for him to come out to the deck before I brought her inside. "Is that a bear cub?" Ummmmm no, it cries and howls like a puppy and has puppy breath. It's a puppy. If she was a boy I would have named her Bear. But I think she's 8 weeks. I can feel that last big puppy molar so she has a full set of teeth and is eating like a young moose. One whole chicken breast and a half a can of dog food. But she's a very good puppy. Set on the sofa with me chewing on my fingers and when I yelped "OUCH" she immediately stopped and cocked her head at me.

Right now she's residing in the bathroom and coming out to visit. Spot and Buck are being their typical "What is THAT?" selves and Spot has tried to nip her on the nose so she's trying to assert her dominance. Buck has never liked puppies so it will be interesting. Georgi has met the cats who sniffed her nose and ran. At least the pup didn't try to eat them so that is a gold star moment.

I asked DH if he wanted to try to find a home for her maybe a neighbor would want her and he gave me a resounding NO! So I'll call the vet tomorrow and get her in for her first check up and shots......I guess the way to look at it is of all the Amish farms and houses around us, they left her in front of ours. God must have planned it that way.
