Granny's gone and done it again

It's amazing how warm that fur can keep them. My silly horses used to love to stand out in the snow in spite of having warm stalls to hang out in during bad weather. Looked out once and saw my little half Appaloosa mare standing with about 3 inches of snow on her back. I went out to brush her off and on an impulse burrowed my hand under the snow into her undercoat. She was dry and warm. Didn't even feel the cold from the snow on her back.

Oh and I just found out tonight that a good friend of mine passed away too. I just do not need any of this BS right now 😭💔
Ditto on what Granny said. Deepest condolences on the loss of your friend. It never rains but it pours.

What, almost two weeks before you get above freezing?

Oh and had Craig help me haul the puppy box and all the "extra" stuff into the house yesterday and then I scrubbed the box good. Need to wax the vinyl floor with a couple coats and then toss a blanket/pad in the bedroom area. VIOLA' ready for pups whenever.

Hello everyone
Hello, Flock Master, welcome!
home made veggie soup or chili for him and some chicken noodle soup for me.
I notice you often fix something different for yourself from what you fix DH. Do you not eat beef either (like my GC who has the alpha-gal allergy)? I made myself some jello the other day and without thinking, gave her a spoonful to taste. Thank God she didn't like it!

Me with my heart horse, Lilly. She’s a Gypsy Vanner x Appaloosa mare. View attachment 4286911
Very handsome! The horse is not bad either! JK. Know what I miss most about my horses? That smell in the hollow of their neck when you hug them. That's a really good smell.

Dog gonnit! Forgot taters to my soup recipe. Okay, add three large diced taters also.

@troyer, love your horse. I had a half app half Morgan mare. Her sire was a leopard app. She didn't leopard out but had white hairs peppered all over her. My very favorite horse breed is Appaloosas. Sass and brains mixed with an ample supply of plain old stubborn!
Sounds like a snowflake? Bet she was pretty. ❤️

We see 32 on February 1st . Till then, it's in the basement. hate Hate HATE this time of the year. Just brutal going out and taking care of the chickens. I can't imagine going out and taking care of a herd of cattle like Twisted has to.

I'd want to be bringing that darling calf in the house.........

and good luck trying to get that calf away from Old Gold. VERY !!! protective. Calf has no fear of hoomons and came to about a foot away from me. Of course since i have no ins I did NOT reach thru the fence to pet/scratch/touch it.
