I'm getting 3 a day from 7 chickens. No pullets. They don't get any artificial lighting or heat. We have 24° here to. Thankful their water has only been freezing overnight

Not bad, for this time of year, natural light. We supplement light. No water in the hen house. The electric buckets really help. Almost time to feed snacks, gather eggs again.

It's sunny but windy and cold here. They are predicting anywhere from 6-15" of snow here. I've got my snow gear buy the door, ready to go.
Took DH for his chest X-ray and Dexa scan. Received the box to go for the lab work. They sequenced the cancer when it was active. Now every 3 months they check the blood for DNA from the cancer to make sure it stays in remission.
Cancer sheds into the blood so if it's in remission the test won't detect it. They can find the cancer at an earlier stage with DNA then with an MRI

Our high today was 0.6. Yes, it didn't even make it to one above and the wind is unpleasant. Last time I looked the wind chill was -26. I gave up trying to get Pi outside. By the time I have my ski suit on she's squatting on her piddle pads and cutting loose. Looks up at me like.....I'm sorry mom but I REALLY had to go.

They keep changing how much snow we are getting. 2-3? 4-6? Weather guessers God love 'em I guess we shall see.

Meanwhile, it's supposed to hit -4 tonight which means maybe -6 if we are lucky but more like -8 which means I will be putting on 4 layers of snow wear and trudging out to break the ice on the water holders for the birds in the morning. I noticed that the only coop that had ice on the holders was the coop without any hens in it, which is the bantam boy pen. Every coop with hens in it had open water. I asked the SDW boys why they hadn't kept their water open and they just sniffed and said.....woman's work, and all clustered around while I broke the ice off their water holder for them. Little chauvinistic ingrates.

I did get industrious and bake two batches of cookies. Oatmeal and Chocolate Crinkles. Just felt like warm cookie weather for some reason.
