Granny's gone and done it again

I took the guts out of an old styrofoam Bator but it wasn't enough so I added a7watt lightbulb that I kept on all the time and then was able to use the other one to adjust the temps where they needed to be. It had 2 turners and a place for eggs to hatch. There is a thread here where a lot of peeps make their own.
Wow! That's so cool! 🤔 now i want to try. Unfortunately I don't really have many lying around extras. I have a computer fan... but thats about it. Lol o dont know if trying to incubate in a bucket or show box would work well. 😅

My lip where the doc took out a skin cancer is still "pins and needles" 2 months later.
And my cheek where I tried to smash my face in when I fell a couple of years back has a "pins and needles" patch.
Nerve damage reduces feeling in us all.
I havnt felt my toes for 2 years. The spinal tap missed.

I used to do "all the things" in the house. Outside too. My father taught me. I guess that was my favorite time with him. He said if you can take it apart then you knew how to put it back together. He was right. Jack of all trades master of none? Anywhere from 220 wiring to knocking walls down. Going upstairs in Mi. the steps were around 4 inches wide. I called in 2 contractors and they said impossible and something about head room so mom and I did them. Worked out great. I've busted up a concrete pad about 24 ft. squared with just a sledge hammer, ordered 5 yards of top soil and spread it in that space and had tomatoes plants up to my neck. Ripped the side walk up and laid the concrete/stepping stones in a more natural curve then painted them red. I could keep going but you get the idea. lol Today I struggle to get off the toilet. I sure miss those days.♥️
It's a painful change. Its no fault of yours though, in fact your active lifestyle probably helped you age much better. Don't be ashamed of taking advantage of what you might need for a better quality of life.

I cant seem to help it, large pain just puts me to sleep. As a teen i would fall asleep in all my classes one day a month, or be sent home. It was ridiculous, everyone knew my cycle lol. I cant do painpills, they make me too nauseous to eat, and give me horrible nightmares. With every surgery ect i have had (there have been many unfortunately) i only take the pain meds for 1/3 or less of the time they prescribe. I would rather eat lots of ginger, arnica and tumeric and deal with mildish pain. As a side effect i can feel everything that might reinjure me so i tend to take it slower and heal better. I dont even like to take an excedrin unless i absolutely cant function. Have you looked into arnica pills or castor oil? They can be shockingly effective.

It's my first time incubating, I'm very excited, but also nervous I'm going to mess it up! We borrowed the incubator, and only get one shot. So far we are at 23/24 growing. We will see. Also set my broody with eggs last night, very excited about that too.
I'm also one not to take strong pain pills. I'm very sensitive to medication. When I have surgeries now I don't take what they prescribe.

Nursing home or in home nursing care. Usually if people have advanced dementia they will wind up in a home because they are just too much a hand full for family to take care of and their care is too demanding. Memory disorders are thieves that steal the sense of self from the victim. Families whose loved ones I took care of always asked me if their family member with dementia was in any pain and I would tell them no. All the pain is emotional and the family is experiencing that. Their loved one is trapped in a world in their own mind, generally their own little world. If they had pain from something like arthritis or an injury, we watched them for signs of pain and made sure they had medications on board.

I hate dementias and Alzheimers diseases.
Me too. Can't believe it will be 5 years come May that my husband passed with Alzheimers..with Frontal.
Can you belive it Granny?

I've heard that was a very bloody surgery. I ended up w/ four 1-2 inch scars but I had horrible pain w/ that surgery. Ended up on morphine at home.
I had my appendix out at the same time..preemptive strike while they were digging around in there. I honestly don't know which hurt more but all I can remember is that I couldn't make my right leg work worth a darn the first time I got up to walk. I couldn't have laparoscopic surgery done. I had a stone the size of a ping pong ball in my Gall bladder. Good reason to get rid of it no matter how bad it hurt afterwards.
