I crave salt too. I need it because I have dry mouth so bad, adding salt helps trigger salivation so I can chew and swallow. I still eat way slower than everybody else though!

wait, you mean low salt can cause dry mouth? And to eat slow? I have both of those things and low sodium. Its taking me well over an hr. just for like, soup and sandwich or those little frozen meals. Cant figure out why.

No. Low salt does not cause dry mouth, as far as I know. In my case, my meds do. But throwing a little salt on my food triggers the salivary glands, which moistens my mouth and makes it easier to chew and swallow. Otherwise the food is like dry cardboard in my mouth! Sorry I was unclear.

Some people just eat slower. I used to eat wicked slow. Everyone would have to wait for me.

Now I shovel food down lol

It’s cause being inpatient so many times, some of them only give you a very short period of time to eat your food so I got used to eating as much as I possibly could as fast as I possibly could LOL

One particular place would give you like 30 minutes I think but if you were at the back of the line, it might be half that time lol

Ive been thinking a lot about Friday y'all. If the heart Dr. says I need something simple then good but if he starts talking more major like bypass well, then I just don't know. I sure need a lawyer to get this house in Roberts name and Im not getting anywhere with that.

I never noticed that and I eat tons of salt or so I thought LOL but I recently got a dry mouth spray (Biotene) from the hospital but it’s mint and I hate it lol and it doesn’t really work very well. I have some dry mouth hard candies specifically for the saliva purpose lol mine are lemon flavor but they have other flavors. I want to invest in the lollipops though because I’m kind of terrified of stuff not on a stick LOL

You were not unclear. I took it wrong. I understand Because your mouth is dry it makes it harder to swallow right?
