Granny's gone and done it again

I wonder if it is regional. Where I grew up and hubby it is mainly caucasian kinds of people so very few other kinds of people. That goes with the southern region he grew up in and I was a little farther north.

But I don't go to those anymore so my opinion is just a guess not experience.

Always go to the best if practical. I am having problems with my eyes. I had an excellent visit with another great Dr. today, an ophthalmologist I believe from the Middle East My gyno and allergy dr today were both Asian. I do live in Calif but it makes me wonder, why do we not have any Caucasian drs any more. I certainly don’t mind. I get excellent care , just an observation
I am doctored out.
On some of the cooking shows I watch, especially Chopped, the judges will ask the contestants questions like, What got you started in cooking, or, Why are you putting yourself throough the stress of competition? And often young chefs from the Middle East or Eastern countries will say, "in my country if you're not striving to be a doctor, lawyer or engineer, you're seen as nothing, you're not taken seriously, so I am competing to show my family this is really what I want to do and I am good at it ..."

In those countries the path to success is, FIRST, Doctor. That's why we see so many doctors of those ethnicities here. That's what they are really pushed to become.

I told hubby if we ever get to redo our kitchen I'm going to have him lower the cabinets that I can reach them easily! I know I'll lose space in some ways, but it will probably be the only time we can fully redo the kitchen so we better make it count!
and I raised my counter tops. Just put a recycled hospital door on top of the old counters. Works great for me. No more back aches from doing dished or basically anything else in the kitchen.
