Morning all.
Trying to get caught up and failing..oh well..Reading about the hotel stays near hospitals. One of the things that really impressed me about Liberty Hospital in Liberty Missouri was that they had a beautiful building on the hospital grounds called 'The Tree House'. We thought it was medical offices but it was set in an area that was shaded with trees and a fountain along with walking paths. Turns out it's a place where family members and patients who are undergoing treatment but not needing hospitalization can stay during loved ones treatments. It has a fully functional common kitchen where you can cook meals, a huge common living room area and nice rooms with TV and private bath. They only ask for a 40 dollar contribution per night if you can afford it. DH and I stayed there the night before he had to have the procedure to put a drain into the abdominal abscess that he had after his gall bladder operation.
IMHO every large hospital should have something like that on board.
Miserable weather here. Down to 5 last night but it's supposed to be 85 on Saturday. Crazy.
@twisted-acres-farm hard to believe that the pups are 7 weeks old already. We use an empty milk jug filled with a handful of kibble for Pi. Leave the lid off because she just chews it off anyway. Little monster is in her rebellious stage or in A rebellious stage. Luckily she does respond to NO! now and backs off whatever she is trying to destroy at the moment. Yesterday she was pulling the wood plugs that cover the screw holes on our dining room table chairs and chewing them up. Luckily DH was able to 3D print replacements for me along with one that she pulled out of the end table. How do they do stuff like that? It's like they fixate on it and then there is no stopping them. And yes, I have a bottle of bitter apple spray sitting by my computer. Let's put it this way. We would have to dip the whole house in it along with the cats....asked the cats. They passed on the idea.
@Granny Hatchet, our electric bill was 123 dollars this month. Used to be about half of that. 400 is outrageous. Do you have electric heat? Did you know there are programs out there to help low income people pay for their utility bills? You might want to look into it.
Everyone have a great day.
