Granny's gone and done it again

bug killer
Oh yeah. I only had two or three nights of half a dozen to a score of those nasty ladybird beetles and now they are gone. It's been five or more years since I did all-out war with them using lemon oil. Haven't had an infestation of them since.

We are being invaded by ants 👀
Ants are tiny but they can be destructive. Our boiler in the basement has a cement base, the rest of the floor is cement as well but there is a 1/32 of an inch crack left around the base, probably left on purpose in case the earth shifts. The ants were pushing big piles of earth up through that crack until I set ant traps. Could they have dug enough soil out from under the boilers base that it could have shifted? Probably if I hadn't killed them.

I'm still fighting Japanese beetles. I found one gap around a window sill where they were getting in and stopped that but the ones that made it in are still wrecking havoc. I need to get some lemon oil, or just a lemon and make some spray up.

I did read that you can make your own bait using one cup of warm water 2-3 tablespoons of sugar and a pinch of yeast. They say they are drawn to fermented bait. I definitely plan to try it out this fall when they try to beat their way into the house for winter.

We have a freeze warning for tonight. Down to 28. It was 86 yesterday, 51 today and windy so not pleasant out even though it's sunny. My forsythia bushes are blooming along with three of our peach trees. Oh well. There's always next year. At least my tulips aren't opened yet so maybe they will survive. I'm wondering if I should try and cover my lilies though......
My GM claimed she saved a lot of different plants by getting outside with the hose and spraying the trees/plants down BEFORE the sun hit them and washing the frost off them.
Road runner, if he catches you ……

your through!

Gnight Blue.
I got a dinner today called BIBIMBAP.
Confused Question Mark GIF
