X2 Linda you can't blame yourself. Y'all have so much on you that it's just to much. I know How you feel though. My other silkie that I got with q-tip drowned. That was my favorite too. Things just happen. Not your fault.

well my "herd" has increased by 3 ex-bucklings.     Rod brought them home today   just weaned  the seller  vaccinated and banded all 3 .   Not sure where they are sleeping at the moment,  guess that's going to be Rod's worry.   He is going to stick them in gen pop as it's sheltered.   I told him be careful as chicken feed is NOT good for goats and it's expensive.   

I also ORDERED my camera last night after I left here.   Same one as Granny has.   Twins even.

You will need an SD card to go in the camera. It only has enough memory for a few pics. Typical for digital.

Linda, I couldnt begin to tell you the different ways I have killed chicks. everything from drowning to dropping a rock on their head. It hurts and you feel awful but your not "done". Please dont say that.

Jane, they are indeterminate. I also have no idea what that means. LOL I have the 7 planted and the boys just brought me some more dirt. Need to find some containers. these are tommy toes so the pot can be smaller ?

That chick was weak to begin with. curled toes and 3 days late dont make for a good chick. no company for it and the constant chirping was a sign . failure to thrive. It happens. It didnt die because it drown. It died because it was too weak to pull itself out .
