LOL sounds like a fun day. good possibility they are from the same blood lines then. toe spacing looks good on all but one. it seems , not sure , extra ? I think 3 have big poofs . one isnt showing the poof.

mine took awhile to get the poof.one of the toes sticks up like a spur but it was like that when i got her..

yes they are small and sweet.I forgot to ask how old they were.i figured about a week cause i got them on a friday and they usually get them on Monday or thats what one told me..

Granny and Danna, is there any way to tell by the poof on a chick that young whether it might be male vs female? Would you look for a smaller one for a pullet? I'm not asking because I am thinking of getting any.

Oh no. They would all be cockerels if I did. Just wondering if there is a way to increase the chances of a pullet. Just out of curiosity. Yep, just idle curiosity...

I usually end up with roos.both of these look the same now,one was smaller but she had the butt problems for awhile..Ed

I don't know the Edna Mode...One of mine was smaller but she's caught up now..Granny may know the difference in the male.this is my first time with silkies..My neighbors are fighting,I can hear them thru my hen cam..

the three I got there a few weeks ago are black . The sign said silkie mixes. Only 1 has a little poof But only 4 toes. The other 2 no proofs but five toes. None have feathered legs and they all have single combs. I don't know what they're mixed with.

Hi all, Wishing, I cant tell a silkie til its grown and crowing. LOL I dont think the poof makes a difference til they are grown the rooster will get "streamers" in his poof.
