I tried to massage it a little Sally. I said olive oil on my thread but someone said it was bad. So now I've gotta go look.![]()
2 sites I visited said oil is good ~ the chickenchick being one of them. Administer a eyedropper full of veg oil, corn oil or olive oil. Gently message the crop. Then administer some water with a small amount of baking soda added. This will help counteract sourcrop if that has started

Well the person quoted Kathy (maybe) and I trust Kathy, but I guess I'll just try the oil. It can't really make anything worse.
you know this is different but when the pup ate the stuffing out of a toy and I called they told me to feed four tablespoons of veg or OOIL to help her pass the mass of fibers. but this is lower not a crop, but massage I think combined should work, even giving some water to help soften and also prevent dehydration, just not enough to cause puking and aspiration..
I agree Camping, my one hen that had impacted crop I used the olive oil & water treatment w/gentle message the first day (no food). The second day she pooped a large poop & her crop was much improved, but not perfect. So I scrambled an egg & put the days olive oil mixed in the eggs. The third day I did the same as the second day. By the fourth day she was drinking, eating & pooping. Crop was back to normal. Hope your roo gets better quickly.

Granny everyone needs a box.I aint got no box except the one I was born with.
Ya you don't want it to aspirate. Put your nose up to his beek & take a big sniff - if it is smelly the crop impaction is getting sour. Administer the baking soda water stat. DO NOT TIP BIRD FORWARD & MESSAGE CROP AT THE SAME TIME YOUR TIPPING IT. IT WILL KILL YOUR BIRD. LOST ONE DOING THAT.
