Sounds like a plan Attimus, I just dug out one of the bators today, think I will set some eggs on Thursday or to have it handy for a couple of eggs that are different ages from what the broodies are setting on. Had to rescue them from the musical chairs hens.dusk here now and I've yet to check the boxes again but I'm pretty sure there's a broody in there on about a half dozen, I'm gonna shove a few more under her if she sticks it out. Got plenty of spare pens, maybe get one ready for her.I have 3 eggs under a broody that are on day 15. They looked great yesterday. Had one that DIS between day 7 & day 14. Had to finally put a gate up in front the nest boxes because I had 2 full on broodies & 3 that were playing musical nest box & screwing up the hatching eggs. I would come out in the morning & one broody had taken over the others eggs & left hers to sit & get cold or I would find 2 in one box. Kicked 3 to the curb, working on breaking their broodiness & letting 2 set in different locations.
I have 3 hygrometers that I setup with the bator today. All 3 are reading different humidity levels. Will have to calibrate them tomorrow. No eggs are in the bator so no worries at the moment.you should have more than one.I got a new one like @localyokel
More than one hygrometer? I have three calibrated thermometers.

Just had to share this. Devin and I sat down at the bar and the couple next to us heard us talk about chickens. They have chickens to and now us girls are driving the men crazy with chicken talk.
That's great granny, glad this hatch is going way better. I put new batteries in all 3 hygrometer today. One I know is always way off, one is a new one & the other one is usually off a bit. I will test them all & the thermoters tomorrow.I have 3 hygrometers that I setup with the bator today. All 3 are reading different humidity levels. Will have to calibrate them tomorrow. they can only be as good as the batterys in them. I put all the same at the same time. I have 2 . sitting side by side and/or swapping there laces didnt change a thing in the reading . temps. are dead on but humidity will vary by 3 points. I just go in the middle. Drilling them extra holes made a big difference in mine.
