It is chalk . and charcoal . very forgiving stuff.

pastels are more solid and a bit oily . nope, just like blackboard chalk.

The kids used to do sidewalk chalk on the patio! I just went out there to put the grill away. The chickens have been there a lot. We are going to call it the poopio now.

I used to do that with the kids too. and hop scotch . LOL the chalk I have are a bit of a different texture. more dense I guess . but goes on like chalk. charcoal vines I like a lot.

I've been looking at photos of sidewalk chalk art. amazing how they can make it so three dimensional. One looked like the edge of a glacier. I'd be afraid to walk over the edge! The chalks they were using were really nice and bright, square shapes. Much nicer than the kid stuff.
