Grapes

Someone on this board posted that feeding whole grapes can impact their crops. i've never had that happen, but nonetheless, i cut them up for a long time. Now i just break them open at the top a bit. But my girls love grapes, too. Lucky for us, the home we moved to four months ago is loaded with different varieties of grape vines all across the back. Free treats!

My girls are still young so there is a bunch of things they HAVEN'T eaten yet....but they LOVE grapes.

The first time I gave them grapes I cut them in half so they could easily taste the sweet insides....they devoured them!

After that I did give them whole ones...and that took them a while to be able to eat....so I figured it was like eating crab legs...all that work makes them seem more special.

My girls are too small to gobble the whole grape so I'm not worried about their crop at this time...but I think I like cutting them in half best.

I also split them in half...

...actually, I bite them in half and give them my cooties.....

I cut them in half first because my ladies are young and seem to have a hard time piercing the skins. Sometimes when they peck at the grapes their beaks puncture the skin and the grapes get stuck on the end of their beaks... it is hilarious, they look so alarmed!

Thanks, I guess whole or split is okay. I think I'm going to split them at first so they can taste how good they are, LOL
Thanks
Karen
