Hi y’all. I’m in desperate need of your help. I have a hen with a prolapse. I gave her and epsom bath, Cleaned her well, and I was able to get her innards back inside. I rubbed her to see if she was egg bound and nothing was hard. After her bath she went in the coop and laid a softshell egg with a lot of blood. She is still outside pushing and she has prolapsed again. Is this blood normal?

Can you give her a human calcium tablet, something like Citracal, and pop it into her beak today? Keep the prolapse tissue moist with honey or mild oil while it stays out. The honey or even sugar and water paste can help reduce swelling, while it won’t stay in. There could be another egg coming. Sometimes it takes time for it to stay in.
