To treat wind puffs: Place the cockerel on the side that is not inflated. Swap an area that is free of veins with betadine or hydrogen peroxide. Use a scalpel blade #10 or #22 work well to make a tiny incision in the skin. Gently press the bird's side to expel the air. Spritz with Vetericin. Repeat daily of needed. Most birds that get wind puffs don't puff up for more than a few days.Question.. on air puffing ? how crucial is it that one deflate ... and how often.,.., or how many day's can you wait to do it..?
reasoning is i'm going out of town for 3 day's next week will that be a problem? after caponizing today.
ATTENTION CLINIC PARTICIPANTS: Check the leg bands on your capons. If they were snugly applied, they may be too tight already. Your birds will grow quickly. Don't compromise circulation in the leg with the leg band. Cut off the old leg band and put on a new, looser band.
