This is probably a stupid question but what is caponizing?

Caponizing is removing the young roo's testes. This can be for better meat, (most meat farm animal males are castrated for better meat) or for quiet roos for yard art (they are so pretty) or b/c people live in town and can't have the crowing, buy their pet "hen" bought from a pullet box and now the kids favorite bird has suddenly announced himself as a boy.

Para mi el principal motivo del caponaje es mejorar la calidad de la carne.
Para otros, según he leido en el foro, y al tener los pollos como mascotas, es para evitar que con sus cantos molesten a los vecinos.
