GRAPHIC WARNING: Raccoon attack part 2 SNAKES

I killed a black rat snake the other day that had taken up residence in my hen house. He hadn't harmed any of my hens, but he had at least one egg in his gullet and no doubt had been feasting on my eggs for a week or two - I'd been smelling an unpleasant odor out there for at least that long. Snakes stink, IME. I'm a little mad at myself that I hadn't recognized the odor and searched him out. His impact continues, as the hens won't lay in two of their previously favorite nests, no doubt because the snake had been there and they can smell him. I've replaced the nesting material but they're still not having it.

Incidentally, I killed it humanely, using ether.
