Carportpony, I'll check it out and the baby hatched like this. No I did not slice open the belly. Alaskan, I can gurantee you it is neither one of those.
They can get yolk sac infections while still in the shell. Have a picture of one of mine that died before it pipped. Nasty, infected yolk... Very smelly.

So this one guy just got an infection and everything went a bit catty-whompus.
Nice to think it wasn't a breeding issue or a genetic issue.
Very possible.So then it's possible that with all the eggs they had (41) that that was one that didn't get turned properly? There was a few bad eggs in the clutch. Do u think the bad bacteria from the bad eggs was transfered to that egg?
