Grass for geese

I personally feed an all flock/BOSS/whole oat mix to the waterfowl that are old enough to be off baby food. They are on pasture all day.

I do the whole oats/ FR too but haven't used the BOSS in the summer time is that when I should put the BOSS in?

All flock work as well but does it have enough niacin for the goslings and adults. So it is best to put brewers yeast and mix it into the all flock,
I have always used the game bird or waterfowl feed. So as I said above I would put the brewers yeast on the all flock feed to cover what it does not have in it for the waterfowl.

I put Brewers yeast in their feed too all my flock gets it, but I thought I read BOSS only during breeding season. I found the nuts berry mix will have to try another Walmart for the Patio Porch deck mix.

I do the same basic mix year round, I do trade one part all flock for one part layer during breeding season. I get everyone on grass as early as possible and for as long everyday as possible. Late season goslings are out all day on grass. Feeding is only in the evening for everyone UNLESS winter weather is not fit for me to be out in. I also free feed grass hay all winter. I start offering it before the grass is all gone and the birds so far have switched without problem.

I currently keep Buff Dewlap Tolouse, Embden and a pair of Sebbies.

My Buff ducks and Scovies get the same treatment as the geese.

I'm no expert so RURU maybe catching needs that I have not needed to address yet.

You did a good job peasue on getting ready for the fall and winter. Through out the summer months is when you can feed BOSS (Black Oil Sunflower Seeds) but not too much because it has calcium in them and can cause kidney failure.... Sometimes we think we are doing good for our geese and we do not do such good giving too much of something.
So we need to use our heads not our hearts when feeding extra different things to our geese. Like the seeds or nuts we choose to give or mix in their feed.
When I feed the nut mixtures to our geese I take one cup to the feed for 20 geese. I give it mostly to the females to help replace the calcium lost while breeding to keep the calcium up while they are forming eggs and during sitting. This by all means helps the girls out to keep them from pulling all the calcium out from their bones. Then we do not see the females just dropping dead due to too much calcium used up from laying eggs.
Then stop giving it but only as a treat every now and then. They really do love the mixture of the Patio, Porch and Deck nuts and the Nuts and Berries. So we can over due try to make them happy because they like it so much, but control thy self!
