I have a large area of grass that I cut every week during the summer - I generally dont pick up the cut grass and it eventually dries like hay - I was wondering if this hay would be good bedding for my chicken coop - I don’t think the chickens would eat the stuff - also good for nest boxes - anyone use the hay this way

Yep, it's a pretty good bedding. If I use it in wet weather, I add pelletized pine bedding to absorb some of the moisture (The fresher stuff tends to pick up humidity). And they love picking the grass seeds out of it.

I did an experiment with the nesting boxes. One all hay , one all straw, one a half hay and half straw. They preferred the hay or half hay over the straw. Now they have pine flakes. But hay is nice and it smells nice.
