Ive seen it somewhere on this site...

I am going out of town and need a way to water my chickens. I just change it everyday but I cant in this case.

I have a 5 gallon homar bucket and a feeding pan. What next?

I don't know what a "homar bucket" is. But I took a 5 gallon bucket, installed a common toilet float valve from the bottom, installed nipple water nibs from FarmTek around the bottom edge of the bucket, attached the toilet valve to a common garden hose, turned on the hose...and haven't carried water to the coop since. The bucket hangs on a hook from a stud on the wall.

This thread has quite a discussion on the topic.

I did what toletiquesbysam did except I put the holes very near the top of the bucket, not the bottom. I also had to cut holes in the lid since it was blocking the water coming out, then made a mark on the lid and bucket so I could always line the lid up correctly.

When I fill the bucket, I take the lid off, fill the bucket, replace the lid making sure the holes align, then just flip the bucket over in the pan.
