Gray Chick

The daddy, we think is a white easter egger who had rust on the wings. The mama is a mystery. Came from a brown egg.

I have a splash orpington, barred rocks, black cochins, buff orpington, a delaware barred rock cross and a amer. barred rock cross.

The chick has very thick "fur" and it feels different from other chicks down.

Who do you think might be the mama of this chick?

Im pretty sure you can rule out your cochins but that is all I can say. It is a very cute kiddo

chick looks like it has at least 2 different colors in it in a splash coloration so i am guessing the splash orpington

You know, it very well could be the Spash, though she is white. As a baby she was yellowish. This having my own chicks is really fun. I've always had eggs under my broodys because I didn't have a rooster. Now I have three roos. Two Golden Laced Cochins and the easter egger, though he went bye bye and now just the two cochins. The EE did make his mark before he left. I have two chicks and it looks like he is the daddy for both of them.
