I see another airliner has gone missing. If they don't find wreckage, it is a bad sign.

Hmmm! That guy dancing on top of the RV is liable to break his neck.

The panels I see being installed over parking areas here seem to be much more durable as to being tied down. They are in aluminum frames. I wonder how long until some crack head starts stealing the metal.

But the panels seem to be more glassy than those in the video. I hope they can stand up to a hail storm.

Plastics break down real bad here. Dashboards of cars melt and deteriorate. Trim pieces glued on with some boogery substance fall off.

Gee do you think they would make solar panels to be able to withstand the sunlight and heat created by it ?

I am absolutely terrified by El Presidente's inability to handle foreign relations. I am particularly terrified by the fact that we have wide open borders at the same time that ISIS has declared itself the Caliphate.

There are probably as many differences between Muslims as there are between Christians. Our federal government consistently lumps ISIS in with the other rebel groups in Syria BECAUSE OUR STATE DEPARTMENT DOESN'T HAVE A CLUE. The other rebel groups are actually probably spending as much time fighting ISIS as they are fighting the Syrian government - because ISIS terrifies them as much as Assad does.

If you want to understand ISIS, look back at the origin of the Wahhabis and the Salafis. The Wahhabis slaughtered thousands of Muslims whom they considered heretics; they invaded Kerbala, attacked the shrines, and murdered thousands more. ISIS is an essentially Wahhabi organization that literally terrifies and horrifies other Muslims. They consider that any Muslim who disagrees with them to be a pagan, and therefore it is acceptable to murder, enslave, rob and do whatever to them. This is in contrast to the vast majorirty of the world's Muslims who consider even polytheists such as Hindus to have rights equivalent to those of the People of the Book, and to be safe in their property and homes and religion.

I personally expect ISIS to wander across the southern border, or to pay border area criminal gangs to carry out terrorist attacks.

I think Daniel Henninger of the Wall Street Journal pretty much says it all. He notes that Obama spends his times at fund raisers and in consolidating his party's power within the US while paying no apparent attention at all to international matters. Not even the situation at our border attracts his notice, other than as an opportunity to pander to activists who want more immigration and more welfare for illegal aliens.

When I and the wife were younger, we thought we would retire in Mexico. Well, Mexico came to us. We live in a barrio populated with undocumented people. Some have been here for fifteen or twenty years and have kids that grew up here.

The kids don't speak Spanish and know nothing of Mexico. Their parents came here to work and get a grub stake for a business or ranch in Mexico.

The reality is that just about no one goes home. They send money home to support their kin folks and build nice houses, but in the end, they end up married to someone they met here, and they never really go home.

These people had hoped for a indulto so that they could become legal. Well, this influx of people from Central America really messed it up for them. There is a lot of resentment. I don't know how this will work out.

The Democrats think that if they can keep all the illegals here, that eventually, they will be able to register and vote. Well from my perspective, it looks to me like they are mistaken. The Democrats shot themselves in the foot when they embraced the abortion movement. And then they endorsed gay marriage and that really took the cake.

I think they are really in for some surprise.

Well, I live in an area with a lot of illegal aliens and the kids don't speak English, the grand kids don't speak English, and our local public school forces English speaking children into "bilingual classes" which are actually offered in Spanish. This means that the English speaking kids lose a year every time they are forced into Spanish language classes. But they are forced their because otherwise it would be segregation and discrimination against the Spanish speaking students. Apparently, denying English speaking children an education is not discrimination.

I have literally no use for the illegals. They run extortion gangs in my neighborhood, they deal drugs, and it was *amazing* how the drive by shootings and knifings in town ceased when ICE, the DEA, and FBI got together and rounded up some of the local illegal alien gang hierarchy.

And California taxpayers subsidize this "cheap labor" source to the tune of more than $25 billion a year.

Everyone who can afford to sends their kids to private school or teaches them at home. The middle class Latinos are desperate to keep their children out of the Junior High because of the gang recruiting there, ditto the middle class Samoans, and Blacks.

The whites want their kids out because they are constantly attacked in hate crimes that are never described as such.

When I was a kid, it was forbidden to speak at school in any language except English. The teachers used to hit kids for breaking that rule. The Indian kids were always getting hit and beat up. A lot of kids became stutterers because of that.

Speaking Spanish with someone became a mark of confidence and trust. The first language the Chinese kids learned was Spanish because that was what was used in their families' businesses.

My wife went to Catholic school and learned English from the Irish nuns. Sometimes, she says the strangest things.

Her cousins went to school in Cananea, Sonora. They never spoke English, but they watched the television and listened to the radio from Tucson. When they came to the US, they couldn't speak English, but after a few days, they were speaking perfect English.

We made sure our kids could read before they went to school. It was our wish to give them the best education we could. They both went to the university and then law school.

When they were little, they spoke good Spanish, but as soon as they went to public school they seemed to lose it. When pressed, they can speak Spanish, but it is un elegant.

We are trying to teach our grand daughter Spanish, but she would rather watch cartoons. It is sad.

When my father was a young boy in the 1920s, the local public school forbade speaking any language but English, and the kids who generally spoke German at home were hit or slapped for using it..

Although born to US born parents, my father lived in a colony composed of Bessarabian Germans from the village of Brienne. Traditionally the kids went to the Lutheran church for all of their education. My grandfather decided to try the public schools.

My father entered school without speaking English. By the end of the first grade he was fluent. He went on to receive his PhD. His brother owned his own machine shop and auto repair; one of his sisters became an executive secretary; and the other taught school. They all finished high school, and either college or trade school.

The kids here don't speak English, don't learn it in school, and go on to drop out of school. The Spanish spoken in the schools is derisively referred to as "fruit picker Spanish" by the middle class Latinos, more than a few of whom are legal US immigrants from Latin America. The middle class Latinos also indicate that many of the kids speak dialects that are mixtures of Spanish and indigenous languages, and many speak only indigenous languages, and that these children are actually *learning* Spanish in school. The comment is frequently made that instead of teaching those who speak dialects or indigenous languages Spanish, they should be taught English since they are having to learn a new language in school anyway.

We actually had a woman try to file a discrimination suit against the local senior center because some of the old people were speaking English there, even though many of those who attend are Latino.

What I can't figure out is why our local Mecha chapter, which makes a great deal of noise about how La Raza are descended from indigenous peoples, actually cares which conqueror's language they speak.
