One an two were an I don't think we ever got completely out of debt from ether but everyone was payed on time. Didn't we have people that had to wait for tax returns the last few years cause we didn't have the money to pay everyone all at once?

which is ironic considering your tax return is money you paid to the govt that was over the amount you actually owed. So them saying they need to delay sending out returns because they dont have the money means they spent what wasnt theirs to begin with..

and no it wasnt for lack of money. Its that the govt wanted to collect a bit more interest on its citizens money before giving back what is rightfully theirs. Yet if you owe taxes they are after you in a heartbeat and wont accept any delays.

And I don't think France has paid us what they owe us from World War I either. What about World War II?

We know something is going to happen. We just don't know what or when or how. Worse the government and politicians expect everything to go on as usual.

I see Iran now wants to station their ships off of our coast. Do you suppose they can manage the north Atlantic. It is a far cry from the Persian Gulf. Time will tell.

I'm wondering what bombshells Snowden still has to tell the world. Was a bit on him tonight on CBS news and it is believed he has many more secrets to tell due to they now know what dicuments he had access to. A public poll said 73% of the US Population says Snowden should be convicted,20 something % says he should be aquitted.
I persoanlly am for what he did in some aspects.Granted what he reported on how the USA has been secretly spying on other countries should have been with held,,but I'm sure the KGB and FBI will always play games back and forth. Countries that pose a nuclear or global threat thru terrorism should always be under the microscope.
But when I read that the NSA can easily access any home pc with a camera, had a company called Quantum install over 100,000 tracking devices on harddrives on computers sold, and can monitor or record cell phone conversation, instant messaging on computers,e-mail,ect,,,on law abiding US Citizens,,this gets my thermostat to open up.With all the survellience cameras everywhere,,DNA traceing, cell phones and stop lites with cameras affixed to them, almost any crime nowdays can be solved. I'm really suprised about 10 years ago when they first was able to diagnose DNA and compare it to other samples, that every newborn was not forced to have a DNA on file.
I guess I think our Govt has overstepped it's boundaries since the Patriot Act,amd can find almost any reason imaginable to spy on anyone, for any reason. I'm also thinking since the NSA is now looking to spend tens of billions of dollars to come up with a super computer that can decipher encrytions,,that someone like Bill Gates is not now working on new ways to insure agencies like NSA cannot get into our home pc's,ect. I can easily pay for software that will change my ISP,,which is something I'm exploring. But that problem still isn't 100% because when you first sign on,you need to link thru a server somewhere, and that server ISP will show your computer was there,if only briefly until you mask your ISP from then on out. I keep my nose clean, pay my taxes so the 12 million lazy butts can draw welfare,I do my part,so why should the govt have free access to everything I do?

I am pretty sure that all governments engage in espionage. What the systems do is record all electronic transmissions, and then the agency sifts through it looking for certain voices, telephone numbers etc. They don't actually listen in on everyone's conversations, they just record them because they are in the mass of data collected.

I doubt that Snowden has any information that the Russians and Chinese didn't already have. They do the same thing we do. Right now the Russians are calling the shots. They can have him release what ever they want. The idea is to embarrass the US at the Russians' leisure. He is now what Lenin referred to as a "useful idiot."

When he was in China, they refused to get into this game. There was not much to be gained for them. As a result, he went to Russia.

I suspect when his usefulness is exhausted, he will disappear into oblivion. If he ever returns to US territory, he should be hung.

I would like to start by saying you have to be very careful about believing in "polls" at it is a fact that only certain kinds of individuals are likely to reply/partake in polls/surveys. Polls can(and often do) say whatever the survey taker wants them to say. They can word questions in such a way that can be misleading.

Edward Snowden is a whistle blower plain and simple. Ironically it was only a few years ago the Govt. put in laws to protect whistleblowers. The problem with Mr. Snowden is caught the NSA with their pants around their ankles. Its amusing to me that the govt. can say they are reforming policy and the FISA court is now under congressional fire for the actions of the PRISM project but yet they can maintain what Mr. Snowden commited espionage and the things he leaked were "Legal." This is the type of double talk we can expect from the govt. whenever they are caught with their hand in the cookie jar.To date the media is STILL talking about how people from all over the US are enraged about the PRISM project so obviously Mr. Snowdens revelations were in fact information the people should have known.

Regarding future revelations. Mr. Snowden said in the past he has destroyed some information he had gleaned as he felt it would endanger current US operations domestically and abroad, or had specific names attached to it. I really believe Mr. Snowden had the best of intentions. Anyone who thinks mr. snowden a traitor lives in their own lil world and would prefer a dictatorship rule over our current situation(good or bad is subjective).

As far as super computers and the lot.. the answer is much simpler. Turn off your devices when your not using them!!! Also never bank or send/view anything you dont want the whole world to know as just about every company out there is tracking/selling everything you do.

Snowden must have all these stolen documents on his "person" be it on flash drives, whatever. He may have saved it on a "cloud" but you can bet the second he attempts to retrieve info from the "cloud" the rooskies will then have full knowledge of everything snowden has. It has been mentioned snowden actually is a Russian spy. I highly doubt this but if it were me,in his shoes with the information he acquired, I don't think living outside the USA for the rest of my life by leaking this info out bit by bit would be worth it. This country has issues for sure but there is many places much worse to call home. Rufus,if snowden had secrets of new weaponry and the like I think he may deserve punishment but he is exposing how our Govt is actively spying on everyone, be it's own citizens or diplomats of other countries, within their own country. He may not know exactly how all this spying is being done technology wise but to me what he has done does not compare to when the USA was building the atomic bomb in New Mexico and a few years after we had successfully detonated an atomic device,Russia did the same because of all the spies that infiltrated the New Mexico facilities and documents was then in Russian hands. This is a much more damaging form of spying and giving up secrets about who the USA is spying on in my opinion.

You don't think other countries are doing the same as our NSA? Our everyday electronic conversations were captured because it is a huge net. The government does not want nor care about Aunt Minnie's recipes or uncle Al's operation. That stuff is just incidental catch.

When people take jobs in sensitive positions, they sign papers and take oaths. It is not up to the individual to apply his own ideas and judgements. If that were the case, nothing would get done.
