My project chicks

He has yellow legs the hens have white
Yellow is supposed to be recessive to white.

So if any hens carry the recessive gene for yellow legs, breeding those hens with him will give you some chicks will yellow legs. The other chicks will show white legs but carry the gene for yellow legs.

If any hens have only the genes for white legs, breeding them to the yellow-legged male will give chicks that show white legs but do carry the gene for yellow legs, so those chicks have a chance to produce offspring with yellow legs in later generations.

He has some massive feet lol I had blue but changed to black because the white was hard to see with the blue
I'll get some updated pictures of him tomorrow.
My old man rooster Goliath is the father of this boy.

The hens have white legs from the original cross I used which was a speckled Sussex over a Wyandotte but that Wyandotte came from brinkhaven and there breeding birds are all white legs to. So it’s prolly not worth trying then

If that's the case, you could have chicks with yellow legs in two generations.

Breed the male with yellow legs to the hens with white legs.

Take chicks from that mating and breed them to yellow-legged mates (50% of chicks should have yellow legs) or breed them chicks to each other (25% of chicks should have yellow legs). So if you hatch 2x or 4x the number of chicks you normally would, you can sell or butcher the white legs as soon as you are sure which ones they are, and have about the right number of yellow-leg ones to screen as possible future breeders.

So it’s prolly not worth trying then
Whether it's worth doing would depend on how important the leg color is to you.
