Newfoundland, it is not that the people have lived beyond their means as much as it is the government that lived beyond our means.

Hemet, once again your originality has me in stitches here so entertain me more by explaining how a "Guarantee" on a return of interest dividends is speculation? CD's are available in many amounts, interest is guaranteed a specified rate for the length of the term you keep the money in that CD,,So how is there any speculation involved? Really? Everything is right up front,no hidden anything. Because you chose to put your funds into a CD is your choice, bad or good, but really there isn't any speculation as to what your final payout wil be. 5% annual interest on $10,000 CD is a simple $500,What part of those terms is speculation?Do you think that a speculator is determined by the amount of risk he takes ? At the time of buying that CD I have speculated that it's the best thing to do with that money at that moment.
I am amazed you can earn such interest! Here the interest rates are very low, only about 3%. I wonder if this rate of interest is sustainable?
Hope for the best, prepare for the worst.
So, how are folks here preparing their chickens?
Does anyone here grow all of their own feed for their chickens?
With Peacocks as my main concern of birds many ingredients we feed them does not grow well in the Midwest, red Millet and Milo are two that comes to mind.
I feel like Obama is going to be most disappointing to y'all when he doesn't try to take over the world and you guys don't get to hang out in your bunkers and eat all that canned food you maxed your credit cards on six months ago.
Are you referring to before the 60s when communites supported each other and offered jobs even menial ones to help everyone get by? I miss those days too. I personally dont directly blame Obama as he was "made captain of the titanic 3" above water." The US economy has been going in a downward spiral since the 80's. That is not conjecture that is fact. Obama for all his efforts has not improved the economy one bit. However nobody can improve the economy as our economy is based on the global economy and the world is not doing much better then we are. This thread is about looking forward to the time when our nation debt has be raised and raised to the point where we can no longer afford to even pay the interest. I am shocked at your statement as you have to my knowledge made only 2 comments on this thread and provided no insight of your own. Perphaps you would like to share some constructive ideas on your view of the economy.I miss the pre-Obama days when nobody was on welfare and the country was not in debt. Oh wait...
The Govt. is prertty sure we the poeple are idiots. Sadly paying attention to our constitutional rights of the last 16 years I would say they are right. As far as being a rich nation... we are!(US anyway) Even with all our debt our definition of poverty is much higher then the average of most countries.I watched the video. How true! How gullible do these politicians think people are? Having been told for years we are living beyond our means. We must tighten our belts, and face years of austerity measures, today, and I quote, 'WE ARE A RICH NATION.' Beggars belief doesn't it? Oh I forgot, elections loom in the not too distant future. My guess is the PM is a gonner!
Quote: I just cannot get over that you still think anything is guaranteed. You're just being funny right ?
Where are you finding this 5% rate on CD's ?
