Do a Google search for "Gold, the renminbi and the multi-currency reserve system" by the Official Monetary and Financial Institutions Forum. It is a 44 page file that is difficult to down load but is very informative.

Then, no matter how much money they drop into those EBT and other welfare programs, those people would not be able to buy anything. And, those people will not do without or be denied what they think they have coming to them. And now, we know why the government is buying all of those bullets.

It would be a good time to be living in the wilds of Canada.
No thanks... most of the Canadian wilds are Tundra... not good for chickens, and not good for me. I am proficient in fireamrs(THank you USMC) and own a few. The way I figure it I live in a real liberal anti gun state. So as long as I have a gun, the liberals can "learn" to share

It appears that the long term goal of China is to be the banker to the world. The renminbi would replace the dollar as the reserve currency. That is why they are buying so much gold. It would be backed by precious metals.

Once oil is priced in renminbi, the dollar and the euro will lose value rapidly. To pay for imports we would have to purchase renminbi on the open market.

We would see an inflation of prices without a corresponding rise in wages. That means a rapidly falling standard of living. The government's reaction would be to print more money because that is how they would have to pay the nation's debts. And that will lead to hyper inflation. When one gets paid, they would have to spend the money right a way, because tomorrow it will be worth a lot less.

The dollar would be a ruined currency.

Then, no matter how much money they drop into those EBT and other welfare programs, those people would not be able to buy anything. And, those people will not do without or be denied what they think they have coming to them. And now, we know why the government is buying all of those bullets.

The Renminbi wont be replacing the Dollar anytime in the near future, the Chinese people don't even want it over Dollars. That is why the Chinese people buy gold, it's not so much the government buying as the people are. Give any Chinese person the choice of a Dollar or the official exchange rate of Renminbi, and they will take the Dollar every time. Even if the Chinese had all the gold in the world, it would not be enough to back a large countries currency.

So the first thing cannot happen, and so the rest cannot happen.

But if the Dollar did lose value then that makes our exports cheaper and would promote U.S. employment. It would also make imports more expensive and that would make U.S. made products more competitive, and again promote more U.S. employment.

More interesting reading: http://www.infowars.com/china-set-to-seize-south-china-sea-island-by-force/

We might see that aircraft carrier in action. Will the US walk away from its treaty obligation to the Philippines? I am pretty sure they will.
First of all be careful reading too much into Infowars as their logic and reporting is on par with The Daily Sun. Secondly I would say we would not walk away from our treaty obligations as we have agreements to park ships/troops at their naval bases. If you think the US is going to give up a tactically valuable jump point that puts us right smack dab in the middle of asia... your gravely mistaken. The US doesnt care about the phillipines, or its people. What it cares about is islands in the Asia Pacific where we can put troops on the ground. I would be willing to bet if the US parked 1 battlegroup just off the shore of the phillipines China would increase its rhetoric while telling its naval ships to back down.

That carrier would last about 5 min.in "action".
I disagree 100%!!! It took the Titanic over an hour to sink, surely a Chinese naval ship would last atleast that long.

Why would the US walk away from the Philippines? Why did we desert the South Vietnamese? I am afraid you are confusing the will and abilities of the US military with those of the political left. Being able to do something is one thing. Having the guts to do it is another. The politicians will surrender a few islands to buy peace. Remember the debate in 1960 between Nixon and Kennedy when they discussed the fate of Quemoy and Matsu? Nixon said we would defend them; Kennedy said we wouldn't.

The Chinese remember that debate.

The US might take on some Middle Eastern dictator, but when faced with the possibility of an all out nuclear war, they will back down. Sad to say, but South Korea, Japan, the Philippines and Nationalist China will have to stand on their own.

DW, have you looked at Midway, Wake and Johnston Island on Google Earth lately. They are abandoned except for a few people left to care for the wildlife. Then look at Woody Island. The Chinese have extended the runway into the sea. It looks like a stationary aircraft carrier. Lots of radar and missiles. They have just designated it a municipality.

The island belonged to the South Vietnamese until the end of the war. The Chinese seized.

People in Guam beware.
