Great Depression of 2016

Germany wants its gold back. About half of the countries gold reserves were on deposit in the US. Now, the US government cannot return it. They wasted it on social welfare, bank bail outs and manipulation of the gold market. There is no reason that the price of gold should drop forty or fifty dollars in a matter of minutes. Strangely, it seems that these drops always seem to occur just about the time that government bureaucrats on the east coast come to work and have had their morning coffee.

The US government told the Germans that it would take seven years to return their own gold. In the meantime it appears that someone is selling shorts in the market. Soon the US government will be looking to trade Obamabucks for your gold teeth.

WARNING tedious but scary reading.

Sadly, it seems as if some really nice, hardworking Americans have an unshakable trust in the US dollar. They have never really known the perfidy of self serving politicians and bureaucrats.

I see that the missing Malaysian airliner made an unscheduled turn and went off course. The oil slick in the ocean turned out not to be from the airliner; the wreckage sighted turn out to be just trash. Worse, some of the passengers' cell phone are still ringing. So, it looks to me like the plane made it to land.

It takes about a mile of run way to land that aircraft, but during the Viet Nam war, we built some suitable run ways in the area. I suppose some of them could still be used.

Remember that the Iranians hacked into the computer system of some of our drones and stole them.

The mystery deepens.

I remember one quote from a movie "I love the smell of napalm in the morning" I know napalm was used in part to clear jungles for runways, among other things.

Napalm was a mixture of jet fuel and soap. It sure doesn't smell good. We built some pretty good runways in southeast Asia during the war. The Viet Namese also built airfields. They were paved with perforated steel plates that would probably be good for hundred of years. I have been looking on Google Earth for one that has been cleared off. No luck so far.

The plane has enough fuel to fly for seven hours; that would be enough to get it to an airfield and refuel it for the next leg of the journey.

The transponder seems to have been turned off. So, all they had to do was fly through areas that are not covered by military radar.

So, why would someone want to steal an airplane full of people?
