Great Depression of 2016

Some people have fallen into the trap of thinking it has to be one source of power.

Why should we have just one source of fuel ? If an EV fits your needs then you are free to buy one. If you need to haul a large trailer then buy what fits your needs.
There is no need to do away with gasoline and diesel powered cars and trucks. Let the market place (the people) make the choice of what fits their needs.

Do we have one size and type of home for everyone ? It's not one fuel that fits everyones needs, the future has fueling stations that supply gasoline, diesel, battery charge/change, or CNG all in one place. Just remember, just because it doesn't fit your needs that doesn't mean it doesn't fit the needs of many others.

It's not a "One size fit's all" world.

This my friends is the classic example of the trap.

"In order to replace all the cars with EV you would need to be able to convert all of the energy output of the oil based products over to electricity."

Right away were back to replacing all the cars with EV. The current oil energy consumption is used for many things besides powering cars. EV's are not the only answer !

Im not disagreeing I'm just saying the the energy conversion just to do cars is huge. One of the many reasons why it wont work. Im not really caring where the energy comes from as long as it does the job. The problem is in creating that energy in electrical form is going to take a huge effort (and sad to say lots of oil)

All EV's would put rural WI back to horse and buggy days. Our state relies on coal for our electricity, and we are losing many of the plants due to the new EPA regs. So far we are hearing that our electric rates will triple when the older coal plants go off line. It's highly doubtful that we'll be charging cars when we're not affording heat and lights.

Picturing EV's wallowing in WI snow storms cracks me up. There are some places where you need a vehicle with guts, and this is one of them.

That I haven't seen yet. As long as they aren't mandated, I'm fine. But I am one of those people that's not planning on giving up my hauling truck, or my Mustang. I like my vehicles just the way they are.

And another example of why there's not one answer to fit everyone in the country !

Just as there's not one minimum wage that is right for the whole country !
