The Old Folks Home

Good afternoon Old Folks, hope everyone had a good day. We have had milder temps today, even did chores in just a long sleeved shirt instead of a heavy coat. I'll enjoy it while it lasts because it's supposed to be in the 20's this weekend. At least I don't have to shovel snow!

Howdy again, Everyone.

I had my second total knee replacement and -- WOW -- it did a number on my brain with incapacitating brain fog. The formulary of meds the second time left me with about a 10-second attention span. I would not recommend two major surgeries in a year. My chances of getting on Jeopardy! have definitely plummeted. Anyway, it has taken about a year to recover (my "gap year" as it were) and now I'm trying to catch up on the yardwork/housework, and realizing that being a senior means multi-tasking is falling to the wayside.

I still have chickens, a flock of 1 roo and 9 hens. The Working Girls Out Back are third or fourth generation descendants of my breeding program. Down to just two dogs now, a greyhound and a true Heinz 57 from the pound.

Anyway, sorry to have been away for so long. Time blips...

Welcome back Peepshow. Hope your knee replacements do as well as mine have. Mine are 10 years old and going strong. Arthritis is setting in in other joints but the knees are good. :thumbsup
The knees are doing great. It's great to have mobility again. Just have to work on getting my brain back now. I sometimes feel that dealing with soreness that pops up is like a never-ending game of whack-a-mole. Ahh, the joys of being a senior...

Otezla keeps me moving.
I'm a big fan of CBD and -- when I overdo -- Naproxen. Of course, naps are my favorite "reset" of the body and brain.
