Great egg layers that can have babies with the same breed

What would be the best Chickens that lay the most brown eggs and can mate with that same breed? (Someone told me that a Gold Sex Link can't mate with a Gold Sex Link)

Barred Plymouth Rocks, Rhode Island Reds , Buff Orpingtons to name a few. You just can't breed back the sex links and expect to get the same thing because they are cross breeds or hybrids.
