Great news!

Some of you may know that back in January I had a dog attack and lost more than half of my flock. Well-at that time the dog charged me and I caught the dog and called the sherriff and he called in the animal contral and she took the dog. The owner of the dog got a "dog at large" ticket and a fine for all the chickens lost and hurt.

Here's the great news. I got the mail yesterday and there was a check for me for the restitution.

I really was not expecting the owner to pay up. But he did. And the check was for more than I asked for. So I guess the judge thought that they were worth more.

I also drove past the owner's house the other day, by chance, and saw that he has a trainer/shock collar on the dog. GOOD! Seems like he is trying to do the right thing.

That is great to hear! It won't bring back your flock, but at least the dog owner took responsibility for what his dog did and is working to try and prevent it from happening again. Good news.
