Great Pool for ducks!!!! (if you can find them)

I picked up that same pool about 2 weeks ago for $25 off of craigslist. Can't wait til it warms up and I can fill it for the ducks. Funny thing is my toddler has one of those cheap round plastic ones and I brought this home for the ducks. He's so jealous.

I just had to give a shout to the original poster because thanks to you, I now have the perfect duck pool. I've been watching craigslist and found one for $25. it's a bit stained, but in otherwise perfect condition for my ducks. There's another one available for $40 in Eagan, MN now if someone wants that one! I can't buy another yet...not now anyway.

I didn't know they came in blue, too.

This pool is ancient! All three of my boys used this pool when they were toddlers. My oldest is now 15. I have just had it propped up against the wall of the house for some time now. My husband wanted to throw it away a long time ago. Well, I am glad I didn't.

Anybody have issues cleaning them out even though they have a drain plug?

I was wondering about that drain. Wouldn't it be better to have a drain in the bottom so you can get all the sludge rinsed out? Of course,you would have to dig down an area under and beside it for the drain hose.

Mine drains enough for me to lift, and rinse out. I actually have a hose attached to it so that I can use the old water on my garden.

I removed the plug, and...

threaded a 3/4 nipple through, then...

I put a #18 o-ring around the nipple, on the inside of the pool, next...

I placed a 3/4 cap over the o-ring and nipple, to keep the water in. Last step...

I attached a hose on the outside of the nipple to drain the water over the garden.

Finished product.

You have to dig a little area out, underneath the hose attachment. Otherwise, it will kink up. I eventually will be adding a filter, but for now this works.
