I mix them with the butter. If it's too runny to make balls, just refrigerate the mix for a bit.

I'll try this but she's not a big yogurt fan!I use plain yogurt. Gives them probiotics at the same time!
I tried that this morning..she wouldn't touch itYou can soak the liquid into a piece of bread and feed it that way. But you have to make sure only the correct chicken gets the bread. And that she eats the whole thing.
Rats!I tried that this morning..she wouldn't touch it
She seemed totally repulsed by the butter. Ugh.I mix them with the butter. If it's too runny to make balls, just refrigerate the mix for a bit.
Wow, that's one weird chicken! Even the ones I've had that were totally lethargic and wouldn't eat anything else would eat butter balls. She seemed totally repulsed by the butter. Ugh.
She fights me the whole time and so I struggle to open her beak in the first place! And then to hold her still, I have her facing away from me but then cannot see into her mouth. You don't need to shove the syringe down their throat as seen in the pic. Open their mouth, and hold their head steady by keeping a firm grip on their upper beak. Aim the syringe toward the side of the throat (where the syringe is in the pic) and gently squirt some in. Let go of their beak and let them swallow. Repeat until it's done.
There is absolutely nothing in their mouth you are going to hurt. There are only two holes. The throat and the glottis. As long as you don't shoot it into the glottis, you are good. Everywhere else goes to the crop.

You're a lot stronger than her. I promise. She fights me the whole time and so I struggle to open her beak in the first place! And then to hold her still, I have her facing away from me but then cannot see into her mouth.
It seems like a two person job. She moves her head all over while I'm trying to open her beak.
