Great to be back in the flock!

I'm posting under new members, because I have been away for a long time! Almost 5 years ago, I lost my job, home and had to re-home all 12 of my hens, in order to move my family into a very small rental. After two years unemployment, 3 years in a new job, the birth of the 3rd child and the purchase of a new home, we are back to the backyard! We are going into the first summer in our new home and the garden is going and the brood box is chirping!
My son (who was an infant when we got rid of our birds the last time) and I went to the co-op yesterday to price weed-n-feed for the lawn and wound up walking out with 5 one-week-old (my guestimate) barred rock chicks. He is crazy about them and is very good with them. Woohoo! CHICKENS AGAIN!
