My little girl has been so poofY the last two days not moving like the others. looked this morning at her bottom and its GREEN and her comb is SUPER pale compared to her sisters.

PLEASE HELP!?!?!

Green poop indicates starvation. (not eating) Pale comb along with the behavior you describe indicates a sick chicken with a possible untreatable condition such as cancer or liver failure.

There may be a chance this is a bacterial infection and an oral antibiotic maybe could help. If you have penicillin or amoxicillin on hand, it may be worth a try.

There is also a slight chance this is due to a hard molt that can destroy appetite and cause a severe shortage of hormones, resulting in pale comb and severe weight loss with resulting weakness. Such a chicken needs special feeding with high grade animal protein.

There is also an outside possibility of a severe worm infestation. It wouldn't hurt to worm.

Not being there to see your chicken first hand and observe the behavior, this is about the best I can offer.

thank you so much! Sure helps to get Ideas I never had this problem before with any of them. They have been eating the same food since they were old enough to switch from baby chicken feed. The other three are great just not laying in awhile. Maybe because of weather and smoke here in woodland California? I’m not sure at all lol this one person said maybe their age they are getting old for their breed but they are only 2 years old???

My seven-year old hens are still laying regularly. It's not true that hens are "old" at age two. It may be general practice for the egg industry to cull at age two, but those hens all have years of egg laying ahead of them. Ask anyone who has rescued battery hens.

It is true that the longer a chicken lives, the higher the probability that a disease will occur, but that's true of all of us animals.

i see! That’s good to know, could be it weather ? Hot/cold outside ?

how would I give her amoxicillin? Should I keep her away from the other hens?
Thank you!

Do you have any pictures of her vent area? Is the skin green or is their green poop on her vent? Green skin can be bruising, and sometimes with ascites or water belly, the skin on the whole lower belly may look dark. Is her lower belly enlarged or swollen?

I do not have a picture but I can try and take one, her vent area is not messy or anything just the skin inside the hole is green.
she looks very “ puffy”and hunched down now

Abrupt temperature changes can affect chickens because they need days to acclimatize rather than just a few hours. I just got a surprise winter storm that caused a temperature change from the high 90s to below freezing in just hours. Two of my chickens were affected and I thought I might lose them. If you've had such a temperature extreme, your hen could be suffering the effects.

Scrape a bit of the green from her vent onto a piece of paper and take a photo of it and post it so we can see. Also, as @Eggcessive suggested, take one of her vent up close, and another one of the whole chicken so we can see how she's presenting herself. These can help us figure out what could be wrong.

At this point, the only reason to segregate this hen would be for her protection and help make it easier for you to observe and treat her. Contagious chicken diseases are transmitted just as fast as Covid. If you have a contagious disease in your flock, all the chickens have already been exposed to it.

I give any pills directly into the chicken's beak. They have no problem swallowing it.

sorry this was so late
