Green egg envy

Hi,

I have one EE that lays pretty green eggs and I am, too, considering ordering some more EE chicks once the weather breaks. They are addicting! This is the EE I already have!

She looks like she is posing for that pic! She's gorgeous!

Mahonri, my EE pullet looks just like yours and she also just started laying. My friend, who is a vet, is totally smitten with the EE's and their green eggs. I think the EE fever is spreading!

Thanks so much! I LOVE her, she is the friendliest girl I have and comes RUNNING to me whenever I go out to the chickens, even if I have no food or treats!

That particular EE came originally from Cackle and was sold by the grower as an Ameraucana.

NOT!

BUT, I will admit that the egg is almost blue.

My other two EEs lay cream colored eggs with an almost yellow tint. I'm eventually going to cull them, but I do want to see what kind of chick I can get crossed with a purebred Ameraucana Roo and also my China Game roo.

After reading several thread about EE's laying brown eggs, I was almost beside myself worrying that mine wouldn't lay a green egg. I hope to get more EE's soon. I just recently bought some black bantam cochin's and have been really pleased with their egg size considering they are bantams.
