Green feathers coming in on my duckling??? *PICS ADDED*

Well thanks for the replies here! I just had no idea the feathers were soooo green on black birds. The new ones coming in look bright and pretty! And I don't care about breeding. We got them for pets and eggs, and for company for my big drake.

Most all black ducks will have green sheen to them, in the sun. It is highly desirable no matter what breed you have, but EXTREMELY desirable in Cayugas. It most often appears on the heads, over the wings and on the tail area, but we've had several Ancona ducks with green flanks and underside feathers as well.
