On, so I'm wondering.. If you mix green layers with a Buff Orpington male, what color eggs would come out?

Considering hatching some eggs to expand our flock and my wife wants more green eggs, so was wondering what they'd hatch out and what color eggs they might lay.

Any thoughts?

From my understanding if a roo is hatched from a colored egg ( even if the father is an orp) he will then carry the colored egg gene-back cross him to his sisters to get EE's-those should lay colored eggs greens/blues

So the green/blue eggs is indeed a recessive trait then and requires both parents to have it. Thus it would indeed require the subsequent siblings to breed in order to regain the green/blue egg color, just as you explained. Ok.. That counts that out then since the Buff is a pure breed.

Thanks!
