Hi , I am new so I hope I do this right..I am teachable:)
I just got my chickens back from the processor and found this area between the breast bone on one of the chickens. I had all males except two females and this was not one of the female.

The processors didn't say anything about any weird markings etc. I probably would not of seem this except that I cut the meat up.

I isolated this till i find out what it is. Any ideas
thank you oh this was the only one .

Pics didn't come through, but this is fairly common. I've seen it ranging from an entire wing looking Bright green after plucking to almost rotten looking patches on the breast area. The rotten looking areas I've only found on the breasts, so I'm assuming that's what you've got. The bright green is usually on the wings or legs. I think the rotten looking meat is green muscle disease, which can/should be cut completely away, but the rest of the bird is fine. The bright green wings/legs I believe is bruising and is fine to keep, often disappearing after 24 hours in ice water.

thank you very much i have had these birds before and never had this. I did cut away much of the meat around that breast and I even did not use that breast. thanks again
