My hen Dela is a Delaware she two years old she hasnt been sick before. She been laying around alot more then normal, she gets up to eat and drink but goes and lays back down. The flock hangs out with out her now, and tonight I helped her in to the coop and she fell off the lower roosting bars and I just looked out the window and she still on the ground in the coop... She has neon green poop on her feathers near her vent and her stomach is swollen and squishy. I am assuming that she laying internally but I keep finding eggs that are the color she and one other hen that I have that I know of lays and I have seen her in the nesting boxes. I haven't checked inside her vent yet for an egg but the extreme swollenness and the feeling of her belly almost have me convinced. I will put her down if nessicary but on this girl it will be hard. We recently lost our other Delaware to one of our dogs (her sister) these where two of our favorites so this won't be fun.

I'm sorry you're having trouble

Is her crop emptying?

Neon green poop is can be an indication of not enough nutrients (the body isn't absorbing proper nutrition), infection or sometimes worms. Since your girl has a swollen abdomen, she most likely has an internal laying/reproductive disorder like Egg Yolk Peritonitis, Ascites, Salpingitis, cancer or tumors.

You can try soaking her in a warm epsom salts bath to see if that gives her some relief and gets things moving. Provide her with some poultry vitamins and extra protein like egg or tuna.

Unfortunately reproductive disorders are fairly common in layers and there is not any really good treatment options except for giving supportive care. Some people do have limited success with surgery or implants to stop the hen from laying eggs and give a regimen of antibiotics to help fight infection if the belly can be drained, but usually this is expensive and sometimes short lived.

If you feel that she is suffering, then the kindest thing to do is put her down. I'm sorry, I wish I had better answers - I hope @oldhenlikesdogs will see this an give her input.
