I noticed some green poop in my coop the other day, chalked to up to letting them free range a lot recently and the grass being long. I also gave them some apples from one of our trees.

Well today I saw one of my chickens leave this… is this worrisome or is it from the grass? I’ve seen her eat and drink. Seems normal. Does have some stool that I can on her butt feathers.

thanks in advance. New chicken mom. She is about 20 weeks.

Are her white urates in her droppings normally this pale yellow? Green poop is usually from not eating much, or she may have a lot of bile. Yellow urates can be a sign of a liver disorder or reproductive problem. I would make sure that she is eating well, by offering some moistened chicken feed and some soft cooked egg.

I really not sure, I just noticed this today

Thank you for the reply. I made up a mush sprinkled some hydro hen and scrambled an egg up. She ate it right up.

This is exactly what I do!

Mine free range and holy buckets sometimes I wonder what on earth they found. I get different colored poops, too, although I would still keep an eye on yours as that's a little brighter than ours. Today, one must've gotten the Hershey squirts from something as it looks like dark greenish-brown grease.

I've laid off fermenting grains, and I think that's my problem, so will get back onto that every other day. That gives them probiotics/prebiotics and since half of it is HHR (Henhouse Reserve) it's extra nutritional as well.
