Green poop

Poop is still green. She’s picking at her food a bit more but there is undigested food present in it. Chicken symptom checker says undigested food in poop, depressed/lethargic, and reduced appetite can point to roundworm infection. We just completed a 5-day Safeguard treatment on our birds a week ago. Is it possible she still has them and should I treat her again? @Eggcessive @Wyorp Rock

What do you feed?

I'd feed a nutritionally balanced poultry feed, omit treats for a couple of weeks.

Provide Grit (Crushed Granite) and Oyster Shell free choice.

See that she's drinking plain fresh water and eating well.

we feed the Purina Flock Raiser crumbles. She has grit and oyster shell. We have been also feeding her apple sauce and greek yogurt since she’s been picky about eating and will sometimes eat those.

Stop the applesauce and yogurt. See if the poop starts to look better.

Applesauce can sometime cause loose stool.

How is your girl? Did you figure out what's going on? I have a chicken with persistent green poop, she was really sick at one point and I gave her Amoxcyllin and she looks better but the poops are still green.

Hi! we eventually took her to the vet and they gave us a prescription for Clavomox (i think that’s what it was called). we continued to tube feed her chicken feed blended up with water as well as vitamins until she was eating and drinking on her own. once we worked through the antibiotic, she slowly got better and is now totally back to normal. some sort of infection is your girl eating sufficiently? green poops could be caused by not eating enough or eating a lot of grass and whatnot. how long was she on the amoxicillin?
