green stuff in egg

Ok, my peeping egg finally pipped today about 6or 7 this morning. We ended up helping a bit. It is finally out of the shell 12 hours later- but still attatched I think. There is some green stuff by the cord- is that poop? Is it dangerous? A second egg pipped as well! Day 24! and nothing until now- two more eggs that have not done anything but we are holding out hope. Any idea about the green stuff?
