Hello everyone!

My name is Kat and I have zero chickens. I am wanting to keep my own but I am not ready to take the plunge into chicken life yet. I first want to have everything set up and ready for my new egg-laying friend.

I have no idea about anything yet....

Hopefully over time, I will not only be learning from you all but also contributing in some way!

Thanks!

Kat

Welcome to BYC! Please make yourself at home and we are here to help.

Good luck with your planning and feel free to ask any questions. Getting started is stressful but it's all worth it!

Have you thought about breeds yet? I recommend the buff orpingotn. They are friendly, great layers, affectionate, hardy and curious.

Be sure to check out our learning center too where you'll find lots of helpful info to get you started.

Welcome to BYC! I already met you in Random Ramblings, but it's nice to see you over here too. BYC's Learning Center in the icons at the top of the page has lots of useful information and is a great place to start the learning process when it comes to chickens. Good luck as you begin your new adventure.
