Greenlayers, but which breed?

The parents of the chicks are probably mixed in such a way that every combination of colours is possible! ;-)

The man where the chickens are now, says that black beaks are rare. He has chickens for more than 40 years and he had never seen such a little chick. This photo was taken when they were 11 days, so you can't see much. But does somebody know how this chicken would become?

Will the chickens (if they are female of course) lay green eggs for sure? They came out of a green egg and the father is also coming out of a green egg. Is there any possibility that it lays another colour of eggs?

It completely depends on what the father's breeding is. He may have come from a green egg, but that doesn't guarantee that he carries any blue egg genes.

A green egg is a blue egg with a brown coating. You know that the mothers have genes for both blue and brown eggs, because they lay green eggs.

If the father has no blue egg genes at all, then approx. 50% of the female chicks will lay green eggs and 50% will lay brown eggs. If the father carries one blue egg gene, then approx. 25% of the female chicks will lay blue eggs and 50% of them will lay green eggs and 25% of them will lay brown eggs. If the father carries two blue egg genes, 50% of the offspring will lay green eggs and 50% will lay brown eggs.
